We need volunteers who will serve as mentors in this program. The mentor will meet with a group of 4-6 girls from grade 4-8 for one hour a week for four weeks. At each meeting, the mentor will explain a simple and interesting STEM project that the girls can do during the week. Secondly, the mentor will lead a discussion about stereotypes about girls in STEM and how to overcome these, and the mentor will show inspiring videos and talk about successful women in STEM in order to motivate the girls to pursue STEM. We will provide documents with prompts, video links and project ideas. The meeting will be conducted virtually over zoom. The mentorship program will run in the month of August, 2021.
